After rising out of the ashes of \u003cstrong\u003eSpacemen 3\u003c\/strong\u003e, Spiritualized's first two albums were heavy on the shoegaze sound. For \u003ci\u003eLadies and Gentlemen We Are Floating In Space\u003c\/i\u003e the band took influences from all over the map and created something truly unique. African American gospel and blues started to show through the walls of sound. The production techniques of \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/turntablelab.com\/search?q=Phil+Spector\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003ePhil Spector\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e and \u003ca href=\"http:\/\/turntablelab.com\/search?q=Brian+Wilson\" target=\"_blank\"\u003e\u003cstrong\u003eBrian Wilson\u003c\/strong\u003e\u003c\/a\u003e were heavily present as well. There can be so much going on at one time but somehow it all works perfectly together.
