After debuting with Cape Dory 6 years ago, the married pair toured and released two other albums, and Yours Conditionally is out on their own imprint, Mutually Detrimental Records. Recorded while on a creative retreat in the Sea of Cortez on Mexico's coast, Alaina Moore and Patrick Riley disconnected from the world to "reflect on" themselves "without any sort of third-party analysis," which helped them "write more freely." The result is a breezy indie pop / rock full-length teeming with laid back melodies and retro, '70s-tinged warmth, and songs like "In the Morning I'll Be Better," "Ladies Don't Play Guitar," "Modern Woman," and "My Emotions Are Blinding" stand out as gorgeous byproducts of free-formed ideas and solid, experienced songwriting.
